About the Artwork
Lions usually give Elephants space, should there be an encounter. I did see a video once when a pride of about 20 Lioness managed to separate a young cow Elephant from the herd, jumped on her back. She panicked and ran into the bush, became exhausted and went down. The Lioness then tore at her flesh while she was still alive. The BBC camera team had a problem with this scene, spoke about it later.
