There is usually a positive connotation associated with growth. Unfortunately, like most with phenomena, there is also a dark side. This watercolour illustrates the dire consequences of growth gone awry. Mother Earth grows sadder by the minute as her land, air and water revolt. Interestingly, I actually grew anxious as I started listing these consequences one after another. No wonder I usually prefer to paint beauty, probably my antidote to the the dark side of growth.
