This painting's inspiration came from a birding stroll in our local area here in southwestern ontario. A family of Great-hoened Owls has fequented this location over the past 10yrs or so and had moved their nest.
We had never seen them before here and a local gentlemen walking the trail pointed them out to me.
I was ever so delighted to see them in the nest. What interesting creatures they are and the difficult textures surrounding them was a challenge I wanted to take on in a painting. How serendipity to have this experience and share through my painting. This painting sold to a wonderful collector and has a prominate spot as you walk into their home. I found it worthy of including in this chapter challenge. Thank you for your review of it.
