About the Artwork

Cheque's In The Mail captures the excitement and anticipation of a horse and rider at the horse show. They are waiting for their turn to warm-up and prepare for their run at the barrels. We can feel his focus and awareness of what comes next and the build up to the flat-out speed run in a pattern galloped around three barrels. He knows he will soon do something he loves and the rush of adrenaline and endorphins of this sport. He is eager and anticipating, completely alive and in the moment.
