This holds so true for me, as everyday I can’t believe that I get to live on this beautiful island, PEI. Over the last years I have been taking shots of the Island and local life. Although the beauty of the Island landscape is undeniable, for me, it’s the people that make the magic of the island happen. How do you capture what words can not explain?
I have been working and sketching away on how to show the spirit and lively culture of our beautiful Island, and this is what made me reach past the comfort zone of my traditional painting style and palette, to a pallet full of bright vibrant colours with lively brush strokes.
I am excited to show “Setting Day” just in time for this years Setting day. It is a magical time and the excitement starts as the boats launch into the water. This painting of Dwayne Gallant waiting for the horn to blow for the official start of the lobster season.
