In this painting I have delved into two of my passions, marine art and history. I have combined these to paint a composition depicting the busy harbour of Vancouver in dawning years of the twentieth century. It shows a steel built clipper about to be towed to sea, while other ships are loading lumber at Hastings mill. A paddle steamer is pictured arriving from Victoria, as well as other smaller vessels plying the harbour of the growing seaport and city.
