The Wind and the Rain, is a painting which shows the harshness endured along our shores. Prevailing winds are revealed by the strong directional growth of the trees, and the peeling away of roots on the exposed rocks. The scene is the same: whether hiking Ucluelet, BC or paddling Lake of the Woods, Ontario. These exposed conditions form the land over time, and the eery shapes that are made, inspire me to preserve the moments I capture first through photography, on canvas.

Jennifer Caie SCA, AFCA
Dryden, Ontario
The Canadian wild places are Jennifer Caie's subjects in painting. Her artwork is created as a direct result of time spent in Dryden, Ontario's wilderness. She also finds a deep connection while hiking the Canadian coastal regions. “Really anything that reveals the effect of wind on the land."
""On the water, or in the water”
This should be written on the transom over every one of our doors!
I do appreciate water in every form, whether frozen or fluid."
