A mannequin is supposed to set a standard of basic perfection, but one day I found it broken, its arm in pieces. It led me to think; when humans break, unlike mannequins, this is a time to make progress and an opportunity to better oneself in the pursuit of perfection.

After moving to Canada, Jia studied Fine Arts at the UBC Okanagan campus, making the Dean’s list. Her works have been exhibited and awarded in numerous art shows throughout the years.
