About the Artwork

Wetlands are highly diverse, productive ecosystems that provide a host of ecological services providing a home for wildlife, plants, and fish. They are crucial in improving the quality of water and biodiversity.

Sometimes, we walk through the marshes and visit these incredible and resilient animals and plants.

This painting is an original oil on wood inspired during those walks. The sun was going down, and its warm light was sparkling on the landscape. The ducks looked cozy and happy to have a place where they could thrive during winter.

It has been framed with a classic matte walnut frame that fades to black at the inner and outer edges. Fine beading adorns the inner lip.

My paintings start with a pull of attraction to an everyday object or landscape because of the light, or even my feelings that day. To achieve my painting language, I use oil paints in a very empirical way producing work that is one of a kind.

"“The intention with my paintings is to make you “feel” as if you were there, to be aware of the
breeze or the warmth of the sun”."
