The Inspiration of this oil painting began from a sighting in Algonquin Park!
One morning we awoke early. It was a rainy kind of foggy day and then all of a sudden the clouds left and the sun came out!
And so did this guy! :)
What a joy he was to watch, eating and the rain had taken all the bugs off him.
Life was good for this one. Hence the name.
It was such a wonderful experience painting this one so large and really expressing myself with all the Flora!
What a great area they have to call home and my hope was to express this moment in time. Paying homage to all the textures that surrounded him out in this opening from the deep dark forest that lays just behind.
