The sound of rushing water soothes the soul and the business of everyday life can be slowed if one only takes time to enjoy the simple things. "Beat the Rush" was done on a memorable day... just sitting and watching the water, letting the sound of it sooth the soul allowed for a fabulous day of plein air painting. Choosing pastel as a medium allowed for the smoothness of the water and the glistening of the sun. I often go back to this area in all seasons just to catch ahold of the tranquility but noting that even the water seamed to be in a rush today.
