This is a plein air painting started at Ribbon Creek, Kananskis, AB that later was retouched in my studio.
I wanted to capture the clear atmosphere of the mountains on a cold day, the quiet and contemplative nature of the place.
Oil on treated wood panel, framed with a natural wood classic frame (2 inches wide) in a mahogany color that brings warmth to the painting.

My paintings start with a pull of attraction to an everyday object or landscape because of the light, or even my feelings that day. To achieve my painting language, I use oil paints in a very empirical way producing work that is one of a kind.
"“The intention with my paintings is to make you “feel” as if you were there, to be aware of the
breeze or the warmth of the sun”."
