About the Artwork
Also called the Prickly Rose, this beautiful wild flower grows in woods, along roadsides and pastures and is the floral emblem of Alberta. The red fruit (called a rosehip) is high in vitamin C and is used to make tea, jam, and jelly. There is nothing like the sight and smell of wild roses to inspire the artist!
