I enjoyed pushing the limits of the paints and pigments by deconstructing elements within this piece. I began with colourful blooms which I then stretched and manipulated to create this abstract piece. Relinquishing expectations; allowing the paint to have control is both exciting and challenging. The resin finish brings to life the rich colours, highlighting the gold and iridescence, throughout the piece.

Alternative tools and techniques allow me to explore the nature of the paints. Their interactions and manipulations often lead to chaos: a necessary step in the process. From this chaos, more often than not, beauty rises triumphantly. The beauty of strength and fragility where one cannot exist without the other.
