In the 1970's I hunted with my horses and we were almost struck by lightning. It happened so fast the horses didn't have time to spook. I will never forget the smell of ozone in the air. I visited the Spatsizi only once (Cassiar mountains) but I was really impressed by the openess of the country and its' mountains. I eventually, many years later, put the two impressions together as a painting.
