I was inspired to create this piece after hiking on the boulder garden trail in Tumbler Ridge Bc. This area has intense weather on a high elevation trail. The wind constantly battering the plant life desperately trying to get a foot hold. It amazes me the resilience of these shrubs and saplings! My way of communicating the landscape visually is through vibrant colors, strong lines, and contrast. I create these works to share through my own eyes, the diverse and sometimes unnoticed beauty we live amongst.
