Our country is full of lovely old barns and outbuildings. This one is near Jerome's crossing on the Kiskatinaw river close to my home. There is a contrast between the positive fall colours and the negativity of approaching winter. I get a similar feeling when I discover miles of fence posts and rusted wire that now lay neglected...the effort and sense of promise that once existed has vanished.
