About the Artwork

Cold
Seeing flowers takes
hope before the thaw in spring.
Perseverance wins.
Froid
Déception nous rend
froid. Le réchauffement d’amour
ouvre encore nos coeurs.
Col 3:13

Yielding to sun’s warmth, snow transforms into water. Transformation nourishes thirsty soil and inspires new growth. The cycle continues its course.

Si l’humanité transforme et prend soin de notre planète, nous découvrons la puissance de l’amour. Comme le printemps, la verdure remplacera le gris de notre avarice.

Karen Blanchet

Edmonton, Alberta

Karen attended Julian Ashton Art School before finishing an Honours French Degree from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia and a Professional A Teaching Certificate from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. In 2016 she helped organize the collective “Devenir”. Her work forms part of collections internationally.

"We live in a fractured world. This chaos is evident in my work. In between the rivulets of paint and the textural accidents I choose colours and forms to suggest a landscape where beauty continues to reign. She is essential to the survival of humanity."
