About the Artwork

Chill
Melting snow yields wet
cold-flowing, Surrender warms
our life-adventure.
Fondu
Une fois bien fondue
la neige nourrit la moisson
si on plante des graines.
Matt 10:39

Seasonal changes excite the soul. As the snow recedes curiosity seeks out new growth among the decay of that which did not survive. All has its purpose.

L’eau suit la route du moindre effort. Elle nous donne un indice pour la vie. Ayons l’humilité d’accepter les changements naturels.

Karen Blanchet

Edmonton, Alberta

Karen attended Julian Ashton Art School before finishing an Honours French Degree from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia and a Professional A Teaching Certificate from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. In 2016 she helped organize the collective “Devenir”. Her work forms part of collections internationally.

"We live in a fractured world. This chaos is evident in my work. In between the rivulets of paint and the textural accidents I choose colours and forms to suggest a landscape where beauty continues to reign. She is essential to the survival of humanity."
