About the Artwork
The fastest land animals on earth, cheetahs are solitary hunters whose numbers are shrinking dramatically due to loss of habitat and competition with other large cats and hyenas. In the Okovonga Delta in Botswana, these three five-month old cubs are alerted by a signal from their mother to stop playing and pay attention. She has spotted a vulnerable springbok and the hunting lesson is about to begin. This family has not eaten in three days and as many attempts are unsuccessful, it's imperative that the cubs learn well in order to survive and thrive to maturity.
