My distilled views of the West Coast landscape especially during dusk, capture the essence of light, sea, and sky and are the key inspirations for the ethereal landscapes featured in this painting.
Texture and light are two key elements in my work, as I aim to blur the line between painting and sculpture, inviting touch by integrating natural and man-made materials found in our daily lives. Each layer of colour and medium is partially revealed creating mesmerizing luminous effects. The beauty, force and energy of light have always drawn me in as a scientist and as an artist. Influenced by Turner, “the painter of light,” and Asian traditional painting, I focus my vision in moments of serenity, to reveal the elemental and transcendent dance between atmosphere and light.
The artwork allows the viewer to experience the paintings as through it’s the air itself, allowing their subconscious to lead the way, sparking memories and freeing their minds to wander, imagine, and dream.

"“Working with texture and layers in my mixed media paintings gives me an opportunity to express nature in an abstract way, to encourage the viewer to be moved by its beauty, and to create a mood that will seduce the eye, soothe the mind, and inspire the spirit.” Monica Gewurz"
