About the Artwork
Desi in Her Mother's Dress is from an ongoing series of work called Heeeeeey Girls. This series examines the moment in a girl's life when her body changes, and the world begins perceiving her according to narratives that she hasn't encountered before. These paintings are created in conversation with my models, about their experiences of having the rug on which they previously moved through the world pulled out from under them
