Working first time with oil paints, i wanted to challeng myself right away. Far from the thick and buttery consistency of the oil paint I wanted to push the medium even further--and so I experimented with it. Using watercolor technique--thin and washy layers-- I painted a still life exploring lights and shadows, line and color revealing the intrinsic beauty of the orchids and pothos plant (Nature).
