About the Artwork
Skilled horsemen, no saddle or bridle, with bow and arrow, pursued the plains Buffalo. The Buffalo hunt by the indigenous people never impacted on the numbers of the vast herds. It remained for the newly arrived European, with the repeating rifle, to perpetrate a purposeless slaughter of the Buffalo, to the point of extinction.
