Not For Sale
The background is an expression of a busy society. I wanted express that even in busy times, women can balance the world and stand with a commanding atmosphere.
This piece was done as a pair with another piece: "Sister Ocher." The name for both works together is "Unity."
I intended to draw an abstract background with triangles, curly patterns, and lines. I tried to use them to emphasize femininity.
I also have a Japanese background so I used Asian techniques to express the clouds, flowers and patterns, although I also mixed western and eastern expressions throughout the piece.
I applied to this show because when I paint I always care about rhythm, contrast and lines. I always try to achieve the unity of many subjects in each piece. That is my concept. I put a lot of things inside of my painting because I want the audience to experience an discover something new each time they look at it, like treasure hunting.
