Carmelita is a Suri Alpaca at Oakwood Gardens (Airbnb) in Oregon. Alpacas are such gentle and friendly animals. I chose this wonderful place to stay while we were going through a stressful time and seeing and feeding the alpacas brought us to a better place. At sunset, the light really brought out the interesting shapes and curves of her fur, and you could see where there had been an earlier shaving. She was a bit more wary of us than the other alpacas were, who ran up to the fence when we came with treats for them, but she was eventually getting used to us and taking more of a chance to get close. Alpacas are incredibly cute when they eat hay – bits of hay settle on their heads and bodies and they seem very comfortable with it settling there.
