About the Artwork

For those of us who suffer from insomnia the middle of the night can take on an otherworldly feeling, surreal even sometimes. You see things, hear things. Problems and worries can seem bigger, and insurmountable. The silence, stillness and darkness can be eerie. This piece walks a balance between these feelings and the whimsy of the arrival of nonplussed 'counting sheep' who are just doing their usual job.
