Water lilies can be found in most small lakes in British Columbia. Come Spring, their leaves reach out for the surface for their place in the sun, continuing throughout the summer.
This painting created from multiple layers of acrylic paint is about the birth of one such lily pad about to join the rest of its family in Cusheon Lake, Salt Spring Island.
