About the Artwork
A tiny fraction of the 73,000 species of trees in the world are represented on this trunk's growth rings.
Agriculture, logging, grazing, urbanization, fire, climate change, and sea level rise are responsible for 30% of the world's tree species being at risk of extinction. Every second breath we take is thanks to trees; the world's population is indeed teetering on the edge of destruction.
