About the Artwork

Plankton, the largely microscopic base of the food chain in the world's oceans, are also responsible for 50 percent of the oxygen in our atmosphere. They are under threat from ocean acidification and warming. My continuing plankton series is an effort to raise awareness of their importance with a portrayal of their diversity and beauty.
