Fisgard lighthouse is a well-known sight near Victoria, B.C. Situated near the Esquimalt Lagoon, it is a favourite beach area for visitors and locals alike. It is also a home for hundreds of birds of diverse species.
During summer days the lighthouse and the park grounds act as an art venue where artists can showcase their work to the public on special occasions.
Small rugged brush strokes were used to model the cloud riddled sky to evoke the often moving and changing clouds of the area. Warm tones were used to suggest the warming sun at daybreak that casts warm reflections on the water below.
