This crouching dragon sculpture is constructed from hand-shaped chicken wire mesh in bas relief, painted to resemble weathered metal. The dragon is shown in a low crouched position with folded limbs, extended tail, raised wings, and an alert head posture. The open mesh construction allows light to pass through the sculpture, emphasizing the contours and internal structure from different viewing angles.
The piece features detailed texturing along the spine, wings, claws, and tail. Layered wirework creates definition in the muscles and body shape while maintaining a lightweight appearance. The wings are formed with curved supporting ribs and stretched mesh surfaces that add scale and dimension.
The hand-formed wire construction gives each section an organic, sculptural quality while maintaining durability and structural stability. Suitable for exterior wall mount.
