The Peace Country, in all seasons, gives lessons in the organization of form and colour. I'm thinking of stands of white-washed aspens with soft, linear motifs: light, shade, colour surprise and various textures of grasses and brush. Magic places along narrow game trails with bird calls, sunlit berries and tangled undergrowth give off an abstract energy and take on a real significance along the trail.
