About the Artwork

This is a portrait of my mother, in her leather jacket, sort of enjoying her time at the beach. to me, her face speaks volumes. It's a winter's day so the light is harsh. It's hard to paint one's parents. An edgy experience. I've made my mother's face slightly larger than life-size to increase the tension.
