This watercolour painting is the result of searching for a subject to paint that could reflect travel memories. In arranging a collection of old coins I had acquired, I began to observe the artistry contained in each coin's design. I noticed the evidence of wear and patina that had emerged with frequent handling and these features added to the charm.
