About the Artwork

In a torrential rainstorm, a sheet of water covers a bus window. Through it, car and street lights begin dissolving, and it’s unclear where objects begin and end, including a lone, yellow rain jacket clad pedestrian. Contact me if you're interested in purchasing this piece.

Poonam Khanna

Toronto, Ontario

Poonam Khanna is an emerging Toronto-based artist working primarily in acrylic. She likes to paint scenes of everyday life, but from a new perspective and is fascinated by the effect rain can have on a landscape, especially when seen through glass.

"I like to explore the beauty of urban landscapes and find charm in everyday things, including the rain. We often think of rainy days as dreary, but the car and streetlights shinning on the wet pavement, and lights shimmering in the raindrops can be beautiful."
