Since I moved to this part of the globe, it's been hard not to fall in love with colours and to paint all year round. Spring, summer, autumn, and winter. A simple colourful life. In this autumn scene, I wanted to express the cheerful colours of mother nature in fall and how humble life is in this neighborhood. I think I have achieved it with the medium I used, soft pastels. When placing down each mark I didn't have any intention of correcting it but in order to do that, during the whole process I kept recalling myself walking through this path on that day with my mother. It was not only the changing colours of the trees but also the movement of the wind going through the leaves that caught my attention. Then the candy sky of that late afternoon, then the house that hides underneath it, and finally the utility pole on a side of the path. I knew all those marks had to stay, and they did, thanks to that sanded paper called Sennelier la Carte. There I named this piece "My autumn heart."
