Many of my paintings are inspired by geological patterns, metal patinas, and bark. I then choose my paint colours that reflect how I am feeling. I allow the painting to develop and come alive as I work which shows the gesture and form I would like to express. I apply layers of texture mediums and paint using large brushes, palette knives, rags, and sponges, then the paintings are scraped and scrubbed to reveal the different layers of colour beneath. Combining textures, metallic foils, natural pigments, sand, and various colours and blending them, gives them their own unique stamp.
