About the Artwork
Coming from a farming background I was used to hearing the old saying "Red sky at
dawning, shepherds' warning", but when I came to live at the coast I heard "Red sky at morning, sailors' warning." As a result, my painting Red Sky Warning can be read either as a storm cloud looming over a foaming ocean with white crested waves, or as a landscape with snow capped mountains.
