About the Artwork

Live Jury #3
This is a scene from my back 40 but the scene is more exaggerated of course. Its a scene I look onto on a daily bases. So I thought how can I come up with an idea the camera can not do, so here it is. The mixed media I used here is coloured pencil, coloured pen and acrylic ink allowing the black paper to show in the snow as shadow. Again I like to combine drawing with painting with a brush in my contemporary style creating a mystery.

Marilyn Peeters is a multimedia Expressionist artist based in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Inspired by the Pacific Northwest and global travels, she creates vibrant paintings that blend expressive colour, realism, and contemporary design. Her work celebrates nature while inviting viewers to reconnect with its beauty, energy, and spirit.

"“I paint to capture more than a place, I paint the feeling of being there. Through vibrant colour, expressive movement, and thoughtful design, I celebrate the beauty of nature and create spaces where memory, emotion, and imagination come together.”"
