About the Artwork

The Edge; Plato's Theory of the Universe:"Two things cannot be rightly put together without a third; there must be some bond of union between them" Timaeus. The tetrahedron is a self dual-this means another tetrahedron can be made. A further exploration of Plato’s Harmony of Spheres… In Plato’s philosophy, the tetrahedron symbolizes fire, the essence of which is light and warmth. In this piece, the emphasis on yellow represents this positive essence.

Marcelle MacCallum

Calgary, Alberta

Light’s elusive quality combined with the fluid spontaneity of watercolour continually challenges and inspires me. I am humbled and elated, always appreciating the feelings of awe, wonder, and delight they invoke in me. I “capture a moment in time”. My art is an exploration of energy, colour, and light.

"My art reflects my appreciation of the “Oneness of a line”, the “Glory of Colour”, and the “Joy of Light”. My art reflects my appreciation and celebration of Nature, Energy, and Light. As an artist and watercolour successfully mastering the highly demanding technical skills is an ongoing process."
