About the Artwork
This image was inspired by the Balsam Root flower that shows up in the spring on the interior mountains. Each year the flower connects me to a new season of hope and renewal. Reduction Lino, #16 of 18, was produced using a single Lino block and successive layers of color and carving. This method requires planning and courage as once the block has bee carved there is no turning back. Once the image is finished, so is the Lino block - it is no longer useable.
