During my battle with cancer, I often asked myself, “What is the meaning of my continued existence?”
This painting is the answer that came from deep within my heart.
“Remaining Presence” expresses this truth: each one of us—no matter what we’re going through—is not extra or unnecessary in this world.
The value of life isn’t found in perfection or strength, but in what remains: the heart that still chooses to live.
Like the fragments of color in this piece—seemingly broken, yet still shining—they intertwine to declare:
I am still here, and my life still has meaning.
May this painting remind you, too:
You are precious. You remain. You are never just extra.
