About the Artwork

This ceramic portrait head of a young man exudes a sense of a warrior and a philosopher. Another duality suggests that he seems both contemporary and historical at the same time, and so, is a meditation on the complexities of history, identity , and masculinity. It invites the viewer to contemplate how our past and present intersect. Through culture and DNA, it is a celebration of strength, thoughtfulness, and the timeless qualities of the human form.
