In the summer of 2022, Joyclyn Storr Brown (my muse and mentor) and I went to the Vancouver Art Gallery show “The Uninvited” which featured historical Canadian female artists who were not lauded like their male counterparts of their time. The painting in the back, “A Pierrette” was painted in 1925 by Regina Seiden Goldberg, 2 years before Joyclyn was born. I chose it, not just because of the shared era, but because Joyclyn used to design clothes with flare much like the Pierette’s pretty dress. Joyclyn studied painting with artists (Anne Savage) in that show in the 1940’s and beyond. She is ALWAYS invited! Check out her work Instagram @joyclyn_storr_brown_artist
