Cast Shadow is derived from a tradional portrait workshop I took in Spain with Eudald de Juana, Martial Pages, and Alexander Yancce. In the final cast I threw away tradition and infused the resin with iron fragments, and mineral coloration. I then forced the oxidization where I wanted to give the piece a further push into the decay of the traditional.
Sculpture is so much more than Shape and Form - it materializes the spiritual, transcending our old classical structures of thought and being into a new life made of new ideas.
