About the Artwork

White peonies are my absolute favorite! This piece was from reference photos I took but from an unusual angle. This unique composition positions the viewer as looking down over the peonies as if you were going to bend down to smell their gorgeous fragrance. I love the unique backlighting which also creates a interesting shadow and the overall feeling is somewhat mysterious with the dark background which enhances the beauty and detail of these magnificent white flowers.
