About the Artwork

Début (du Rhône)
Little torrents rush
over and around, by paths
of least resistence.
Début (du Rhône)
Rus, sortant de glace
deviennent des ruisselets, puis
des ruisseaux joyeux
Sir 29 :21

Our major rivers have such humble beginnings. Most of them begin with melting glaciers then grow as other streams join the parade.

Nos grands fleuves ont des débuts très modestes. La plupart d'entre eux naissent de la fonte des glaciers, puis s'agrandissent au fur et à mesure que d'autres cours d'eau se joignent au défilé.

Karen attended Julian Ashton Art School before finishing an Honours French Degree from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia and a Professional A Teaching Certificate from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. In 2016 she helped organize the collective “Devenir”. Her work forms part of collections internationally.

"We live in a fractured world. This chaos is evident in my work. In between the rivulets of paint and the textural accidents I choose colours and forms to suggest a landscape where beauty continues to reign. She is essential to the survival of humanity."
