At the dress store fitting room, a high-school senior tries on prom dresses with her best friends, all of them full of excitement. Later that day, they would be informed that the ceremony would be cancelled due to the pandemic.
As a mother, I was inspired, and I have painted this memory and smile as a way to wish and congratulate my daughter on what should have been a joyful end to her school years.
