This painting was first inspired while hiking at different locations, from Nanaimo to Tofino. A tall narrow wood panel was chosen to portray the feeling of walking in the forest; the reds and greens and blues, in my mind's eye still.

The Canadian wild places are Jennifer Caie's subjects in painting. Her artwork is created as a direct result of time spent in Ontario's wilderness. She also finds a deep connection while hiking the Canadian coastal regions. “Really anything that reveals the effect of wind on the land."
